Jakub is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer specialising in energy access and efficient appliances designed for off- and weak-grid areas. He leads the energy access research portfolio at Energy Saving Trust, primarily working on the Low Energy Inclusive Appliances programme as part of Efficiency for Access. Jakub’s cooling research portfolio includes field testing of solar-powered refrigerators, designing a net-zero cold storage solution and developing a technical guide for walk-in cold room practitioners. Prior to that, he worked as a renewable energy consultant in the private sector and a researcher in the public sector and academia. Jakub holds an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems & the Environment from the University of Strathclyde and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Liberec.
