Rusmir Musić is a climate finance expert at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. He is the Global Cooling Lead guiding IFC’s Sustainable Cooling Initiative. In his 12+ year tenure at IFC, he has worked on a number of climate-related transformative initiative, including green and resilient affordable housing, smart green cities, value chain decarbonization, and climate adaptation. He helped synthesize IFC’s first Climate Implementation Plan in 2016 and introduced the EDGE Green Buildings Program to a number of countries as the Global Business Development Lead.

Rusmir hails from Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he left at age 17 - as a war refugee - for the United States. He received his BA in Chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross and his MA from Humanities and Social Thought from New York University. After working in the education sector, he received an MBA from the Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, where he was Salutatorian of his class.

Rusmir has written and presented on a variety of topics; has been published in books, journals, and on the Web; and was profiled by Business Week as one of its featured MBA student bloggers.
